Photojournalism
This portfolio of my photojournalistic work ranges from local protests to international territories. Traveling is one of the biggest privileges in my life, and through photography, I have the honor to share pieces of my journeys with the world. Across these endeavors, I have learned to slow down and observe the world more intentionally. Through lines of symmetry, repeating patterns, and vibrant colors, I love sharing a glimpse of my lens to others. These various photographs reflect my growth as a visual storyteller and my commitment to capturing the world with curiosity, awareness, and purpose.

Video Journalism

Although video journalism is a new realm of work for me, I am no stranger to being in front of the camera and editing videos. I have prior experience in editing sports highlights videos and social media content, which is what sparked my interest in videography. During my time at The New York Times, I was inspired by one of my mentor's videos that was highlighted on the Times website. The format, the visuals, the text- everything intrigued me and I wanted to challenge myself to create a video of my own.
As part of my capstone project, I made this piece of visual media to summarize my process and findings. I wanted this video to feel both informative and authentic, to grab viewer's attention whilst educating them in historical contexts. Through my process, I learned the importance of script writing, video editing, and the utilization of my resources to create this piece. Fully recording, editing, and producing this video on my iPhone definitely was a challenge, but I am so proud with the final outcome.
Enjoy!
